SAILORS MARITIME ACADEMY situated close to the port city of Visakhapatnam is dedicated towards conducting various courses to meet the manpower requirement of Maritime Industry. The Academy is one of the foremost maritime training establishment in this region with modern facilities and equipment, matched by a pool of qualified lectures and instructors. Its ultimate objective is to become a regional center of excellence in maritime training.

With the rapidly growing shipping fleets and the constantly changing scenario at sea, coupled with the doors of India opening to the rest of the world, the maritime community has come to realize the manpower potential in India. Indian sailors have time and again proved that they are second to none as evidenced from the fact that today they are virtually manning vessels of all flags.

Today a career in shipping is very challenging and requires honing of the capabilities of an individual to a fine art, whereby he outshines others and at the same time does not become a machine in doing so. To help imbibe these qualities in a youngster, the Sailors Maritime Academy was born.

The cadets trained by us have given an excellent account of themselves on various foreign flag ships under the prestigious foreign shipping of United Kingdom, Japan, Greece, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Cyprus and Bulgeria etc..

A highly qualified and dedicated group of Master Mariners, Chief Engineers, Commanders regularly visit the academy to give the cadet up to date information about the latest developments in modern maritime industry.
